Hold on a second… this isn’t a stancey scene show, what am I doing here?

Well, allow me to take a quick break from the usual and dive into the beautiful world of classic (fine… Retro) cars. Accompanied by Josh and Will, we set off to Goodwood for this years Retro Rides Gathering in the early hours of Sunday morning. The journey down gave us a little taste of the variety we can expect, and if you’ve been reading Candy Showroom’s articles for a while now you’d know that good variety is the key to grabbing my attention.

The early sun rise allowed me to make the most of the lighting in these rollers, but as we approached Goodwood we drove deeper into a thick fog. Luckily the weather held it together and the sun came out again.

I know none of you care about the weather. Let me just show you some photos.

Naturally I gravitated towards anything with interesting fitment and a BMW badge. Sorry! (not really sorry.)

It was a pleasure seeing Scott’s touring E36 again. I’ve seen it before, but not on the new square turbo fans set up and clear rear lights. It recently got featured on the front page of Stance Works, the website which helped start my love for cars many years ago – Lovely motor!

Another absolute gem was Josh’s Mk1 Accord which convoyed down with us. As you can expect with josh, it’s loud, bold, and about an inch off the ground. Quite clearly a very attention grabbing motor. Runs like a dream though, promise.

Right, let’s take a trip down the race track.

The show clashed with Early Edition, so it was nice to see a lot of VAG cars come down to Goodwood for the day instead.

Hey look – it’s a Jag with over sized wheels!

And that rounds up our little trip to Goodwood. I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Retro Rides, and it was nice to chat to people about motors that don’t tend to find their way into the shows you usually find us at. Shout out to the chap with the grey MK1 Jazz convertible too, your car was ace.

Our next show will be VW Days in France. Boy oh boy are we excited. I’m planning on making a lengthy film for it too, so we’ll see you there!

I’ll leave you with two rollers I got of Josh’s car on the way home.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
