Edition 38 2016

This was our first time attending Edition 38. We’ve seen the aftermovies, we’ve seen the online coverage and we’ve seen the Instagram posts. We knew E38 is probably the largest VAG show based in England, and we also knew that this year we couldn’t miss out. With this in mind, we made plans to attend for the whole weekend and waited patiently for September to come around.

Luck wasn’t on our side however, and while originally we wanted to camp from Saturday to Sunday, the heavens opened up and decided to come down only for the Sunday. Matt and I got up nice and early and headed up towards Northampton, excited to see what we’d be greeted by.

We cannot deny that the standard of cars on show at E38 was easily some of the best we’ve seen. Despite the weekend’s weather, every single car on the show grounds looked fresh and clean. The ground wasn’t too muddy and it didn’t rain one bit on Sunday. We were definitely chuffed with the outcome of the day, and Matt and I got some much coverage I’ve decided it’s best to split the coverage into two separate parts. This part will feature all of my pictures, and part 2 will feature all of Matt’s photos (which came out amazing, must I add.)

Before we start, I highly recommend watching our Aftermovie from the event. You can click here to watch it, or click the play button below!

Anyway, let’s get started with the photos. As with every show, Matt and I got a chance to meet a load of you guys and finally put some faces to cars. We’ve always been a fan of Harrison’s EOS and it was good to meet and hear some of his future plans for the car, you’ll definitely be seeing more of this car on our website in the future.

The campsite was also full of low goodness which was both VAG and non-VAG. Ricky’s Twingo is a perfect example of how the E38 weekend brings everyone and everything down. Even though we didn’t get to see the prior day’s antics, we still got the sense this was no random car show.

We also finally got the chance to meet Dan, who’s mint MK2 took centre stage on the VW Heritage stand.

As you could imagine, there was a lot of Golfs on show at E38. One way to grab attention is with a wrap, and what wrap stands out more than a camo one? Tom’s humble MK5 with ABT details here and there is a great example of what we’re on about.

It was great to meet all the guys mentioned above. All of them also got their hands on our Original Candy Showroom window stickers. We’re actually doing free shipping until Players,  so head over to our store, or click here, to get your hands on one. Use the coupon code “PLAYERSPREP” at the checkout to claim your free shipping!

The guys over at The Decked Dead have been holding it down with their MK3s recently. In fact, mine and Matt’s favourite car of the show was their white MK3 Estate owned by Calum. This air install is without a doubt the coolest we’ve ever seen, and has us scratching our heads when we first saw it.

Seeing as this is a two part article, I’m going to save my comments for the next part which will be coming out early next week. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to be kept up to date!
The next show we’re attending is Players 10, and oh boy are we excited for that one.

If you spot anyone you know in our photos, be sure to share the article with them!

As always, I’ll let my pictures roll, and as always, thank you for reading.
